Schlenk Lines In addition to using the gloveboxes, the Scott Lab has two N2/vacuum Schlenk lines set up for air sensitive catalyst synthesis. |

Solvent System Glass Contours - Solvent System. Organometallic synthesis typically requires the use of O2 and H2O free solvents. The Scott lab has a solvent system which removes air and from solvents (THF, Et2O, hexanes and toluene) using packed bed catalysts. This prevents the need to distill solvents. |

Tube furnaces are used for calcination, carburization, and reduction experiments. This older model can still be heated to 1200 celsius. |
